Faith Hill to sing 'America the Beautiful' at Super Bowl

CNN.com

Faith Hill will sing "America the Beautiful" during the pregame show at the Super Bowl next month, according to the National Football League.

Faith Hill is a Grammy Award-winning artist and the voice of "Sunday Night Football's" theme song.

Hill, a Grammy Award-winning artist and the voice of the theme song for NBC's "Sunday Night Football," delivered the national anthem before Super Bowl XXXIV in Atlanta, Georgia, in 2000.

The only other artists who have sung "America the Beautiful" before a Super Bowl are Vikki Carr (Super Bowl XI), Ray Charles (Super Bowl XXXV) and Alicia Keys (Super Bowl XXXIX).
The 2009 Super Bowl will be broadcast in 230 countries and territories, the NFL said. More than 148 million American viewers watched the 2008 game, it said.

That's a bigger and different audience for me." Brown's latest album, 2007's Exclusive, has sold nearly 2 million copies. No release date has been set. Brown was recently named Billboard's top pop artist of the year.

Faith Hill's New Fragrance
Connietalk.com

Hubby Tim McGraw already has his own fragrance. Next year Faith Hill will join him and a few other celebs in the perfume industry. The scent will be made by Coty, the same company that manufactures Tim's. I'm assuming they'll be compatible to one another. There is no word on what the scent will be named.

Coty makes perfumes for other famous people too, like JLo, Gwen Stefani, and Shania Twain. Faith is comparing this experience to making a new album.

She says "you just hope everyone will enjoy it."

Tim McGraw Still Adjusting to an Estrogen-Filled House
GAC - Great American County

Tim McGraw is sometimes confused about what goes on in his house since he is surrounded by all women, including wife Faith Hill and daughters Gracie Katherine, 11 ½, Maggie Elizabeth, 10, and Audrey Caroline, 6 ½! The 41-year-old admits that "it's not easy" as he is "a guy's guy -- and then I've got a house full of estrogen." Complicating things is the fact that oldest daughter Gracie just started junior high and "there's some things going on in that head. I don't know what's going on with her. But it's tough, you know. It's a learning process." After some misguided attempts at trying to discipline his pre-teen, the country singer notes that "you certainly can’t be close-minded, like it’s gonna be my way. And I’ve tried that: ‘It’s gonna be my way, we’re gonna do it this way, you’re gonna get up and you’re gonna do that.'"

"I don't know if it's different for boys, but with girls, it just doesn't work that way. You've got to figure out how to deal with 'em on their terms."

Tim has co-written a children's book entitled My Little Girl, that deals with a daughter's relationship with her father.

Tim McGraw Looks Beyond Christmas
GAC - Great American County

Nov. 19, 2008 — Tim McGraw is part of an all-star cast for the movie The Four Christmases, which opens next week. Among the other stars in the picture are Reese Witherspoon, Vince Vaughn and Robert Duvall, who may appear with Tim in another picture down the line.

"There’s a movie we’re talking about it," Tim told the national radio show GAC Nights: Live From Nashville. "It’s not gotten to the pre-production part, but it’s certainly a thing we’ve talked about for a year now that’s based on a true story, and I believe over in East Tennessee, about a man, an older gentleman. He and the town and the funeral parlor kind of faked his death to kind of have a party in the town. And it’s a pretty interesting movie."

For now, Tim’s got Four Christmases on the brain. Opening Nov. 26, the picture also features Sissy Spacek, Mary Steenburgen and Dwight Yoakam. To help promote it, Tim’s slated to host "Saturday Night Live" this Saturday on NBC.

Getting to Know the Hollywood Tim McGraw
CMT - Country Music Television

His fans only know the half of it. But Reese Witherspoon was willing to let the world in on the other half of Tim McGraw. The Hollywood-actor side. Music City TV caught up with Witherspoon while she was in Nashville for the CMAs. And she dished about what it was like working with him on the new movie, Four Christmases.

First of all, she refused to sing in front of him. And second of all, she claims McGraw has a good sense of humor. “Tim’s a great actor, but he’s also really funny. And he got really into the character. Everybody on the set loved him” she said. (Although she also said that he gave everybody guitars, which may be why there was so much on-set love.)

The movie, due out next week, features McGraw as an amateur UFC Cage fighter. And that alone is enough to get me to avoid my Thanksgiving preparations for a few hours and go see it the day it comes out
