Tim McGraw Dominates Billboard Magazine's #1 Chart Position With Total of 58 Weeks posted by debi
Proving that he his at the top of his game and on top of the country music industry, Curb Records is proud to announce that Tim McGraw has now set the record for the most cumulative weeks at #1 on Billboard's Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart, with a total of 58 weeks at the top, since the implementation of the Nielsen Broadcast Data Systems (BDS) era, which began in January 1990. Neilsen BDS data is the information Billboard magazine utilizes to compile its song charts for all formats.
McGraw was able to set the record with his explosive new single "Live Like You Were Dying," which has become his 23rd #1 one single as a solo artist (all charts). Among the highlights during this record setting run were "It's Your Love," which at the time spent an unprecedented 6 weeks at #1, only to be followed up with another 6 week run with "Just To See You Smile." McGraw has also topped the charts with his wife on "Just To Hear You Say That You Love Me" and as a guest vocalist on the Jo Dee Messina single "Bring On the Rain," which McGraw co-produced.
"This is truly an amazing accomplishment," said Scott Siman of rpm management, McGraw's manager. "It's a testament to the promotion staffs that have worked all these singles, to the songwriters who composed the songs, the musicians who played on them, the record producers who made the records, the radio programmers and stations that played them, and of course to an artist with vision and foresight."
Commented McGraw, "I am truly humbled to have achieved this record. I don't go out trying to record songs I think will go to #1; I try to record songs I think people will respond to. But when a single does make it you feel that you've accomplished that goal - and then there is the pride you feel for everyone else who was a part of that single because it is honestly a team accomplishment."
McGraw's ninth Curb Records album Live Like You Were Dying is due out Aug. 24.

McGraw Hangs On To #1 posted by debi
Tim McGraw's "Live Like You Were Dying" remains at #1 for a second week. Tim's fastest rising song ever holds off his buddy Kenny Chesney's "I Go Back" that marks time at #2.
Meanwhile, Tim On Tour is breaking records. According to Tim's camp, the Tim McGraw and the Dance Hall Doctors Out Loud tour set a record in Cleveland as "the biggest crowd to ever see a country show there, selling out completely over 23,000 seats."
At this point McGraw's tour is racking up "huge numbers, in excess of the Tim McGraw Tour featuring Kenny Chesney."
On another note - Jason Isringhausen, the league leading St. Louis Cardinals closer, came on stage during I Like It I Love It to do the Bud Light toast. A very big moment with the baseball crazy town.
